Business hours
Our business hours are 7.30am to 4.30pm (NZDT).
The following days are not classified as business days: all Saturdays and Sundays; all statutory holidays; Wellington Anniversary Day; and the period from 24 December until 2 January inclusive.
Christmas hours
The NZP&M office and Business Service Centre will be closed from 5:00pm Monday 24 December 2012 until 8:30am Thursday 3 January 2013.
During this period access to online services will still be available, however registration requests for the Exploration Database will not be actioned until the office reopens on Thursday 3 January 2013.
Acceptable Work Programme Offer applications (minerals) received between 4.30 pm on 19 December 2012 to 7.30 am on 16 January 2013 will be treated as being received at 7.30 am on 16 January 2013 (see Minerals Programme for Minerals 2008 clause 3.1, and Schedule 1 for guidance).
Submitting applications
We can receive applications on any business day by: post or courier delivery during business hours; hand-delivered during business hours; fax; email; other means as approved by the Secretary.
The date and time of every application will be recorded at the time of receipt. Where an application is delivered or received outside business hours, its receipt will be recorded as 7.30am of the next business day.
We will check all applications to ensure they are in accordance with the appropriate regulations and are accompanied by the prescribed fee. If the application requirements, as prescribed in the regulations, are not substantially complied with, we will promptly advise you that the application cannot be accepted.
