Tui partners suspend Tui SW-2 and now move to Kahu-1

25 June 2010 - One of the partners in the exploration programme near the Tui oil field confirmed that the exploration well Tui SW-2 had been suspended to determine the potential use as a gas injection well.

New Zealand Oil & Gas Ltd (NZOG) said that since the joint venture’s last report the 7 inch liner has been run and cemented and the well suspended as a potential future gas injector.

Anchor handling operations were in progress on the Kan Tan IV drilling rig.

The rig is to move to the Kahu-1 location, about 2 kilometres east of the producing Tui oil field.

Participants in Tui SW-2 and PMP 38158 are: AWE Ltd (operator) 42.5%, Mitsui E&P Australia Pty Ltd 35%, NZOG (through its subsidiary Stewart Petroleum) 12.5% and Pan Pacific Petroleum NL (through subsidiary WM Petroleum Ltd) 10%.
