2017 Minerals Data Pack released
NZP&M has released a newly updated Minerals Exploration Data Pack featuring new government-funded aeromagnetic and soil geochemical data.
The Minerals Exploration Data Pack showcases government-funded and open file data. It combines a large selection of open-file geophysical, geochemical and geological datasets, minerals reports and prospectivity studies that help industry identify minerals exploration opportunities in New Zealand.
The 2017 edition features new magnetic and radiometric data acquired from the Regional Aeromagnetic Survey Programme in Nelson, Marlborough, Otago and Southland. Also featured is new regional soil geochemistry data (at eight kilometre and two kilometre grid spacing) acquired from Nelson, Marlborough and Tasman.
David Darby, Manager, NZP&M Commercial Analysis and Investment, says the Minerals Exploration Data Pack is progressively added to over time and offers the best and most recent releases of minerals exploration data.
“In addition to improving the understanding of New Zealand’s mineral prospectivity, the new data in this year’s edition has a range of other purposes, including helping with public infrastructure planning and environmental monitoring.”
