Land proposed for exclusion from our minerals and petroleum programmes

Areas proposed for exclusion from New Zealand’s Minerals and Petroleum Programmes due to their importance to iwi or hapū. These include sacred sites, protected reserves, and lands included in Treaty settlements, ensuring they are safeguarded from exploration and extraction activities.

For exclusion from the Programme for Minerals and Petroleum

The land listed below is proposed for exclusion from the Minerals Programme for Minerals (Excluding Petroleum) and Petroleum 2025.

  1. Warawara Forest (Part Northland Conservation Park):

Te Heru o Tureia Gift Area, located in the Hawke’s Bay Land District: Hastings and Wairoa District, containing approximately 1462.0900 hectares, being Part Section 1 SO 9433, Part Section 2 Block X and Parts Section 2 Block XII Waitara Survey District and Part Section 5 Block I Mohaka Survey District.
